About Us

Wellybobs Day Nursery first opened its doors in April 2011, expanding in the spring of 2014 and opening the adjoining Treehouse Out of School & Holiday Club in September 2017. Owned and managed by Lucy & Richard Taylor, along with Tina and Clifton Bland, Wellybobs is a family run business providing first class, quality care and education for children.

Wellybobs is a full-time day nursery, set within the countryside at Barnhill Farm accessed by a private road with designated parking for parents. When you visit our nursery, the first thing you are likely to notice is the welcoming, friendly team and caring environment. It is this unique aspect which our parents comment on most and one which we actively encourage to help make our children feel that they are safe, loved and have a sense of belonging at nursery. From babies up to pre-school children, Wellybobs provides a positive emotional and physical environment which inspires our children to    be inquisitive and explore their world with confidence, with the knowledge there is a loving, familiar and trusted adult to help them when they might need it.

We promote and encourage an ethos of working closely with and building meaningful relationships with families.  Recognizing that all children are different and that they come to our nursery with unique experiences of family, friends and their world, we are then able to build upon this to provide tailored support for each child and enable them to make friends and be happy at nursery.

You, as the parent or guardian, have a vital role in how we care for and work with your child. From the settling in process as a baby and through each stage of transition throughout nursery life into Toddlers and Pre-school and later their first school days, children who can see warm and authentic interactions between a parent and the adult caring for them at our nursery, soon learn that the adult can be trusted and can be relied upon for a cuddle, comfort or play.

Lucy, the nursery manger, alongside Gemma, the deputy manager and the senior team at Wellybobs nursery work closely together to ensure that the care and wellbeing of the children is kept at the centre of everything we do. The whole team appreciates and understands how significant the early years are in helping children to see themselves as capable and confident individuals. We are committed to ensuring the physical and emotional environment and the interactions with children and families at Wellybobs Day Nursery & Treehouse all reflect and support this. The nursery has its own Emotional Health Co-ordinator (Jasmine Holtby) who promotes and supports the positive health & wellbeing of all children & staff. Joanne Hawksworth is the nursery SENco and is supported by the very experienced Ann Jamieson. Mandy Daniels is our Lead Safeguarding Officer and Jasmine Holtby is both the Emotional Health Co-ordinator for the children and the Behavioural specialist; there to support staff, parents and children through any challenging behaviour.

At Wellybobs Day Nursery we provide care for your child using the Early Years Foundation Stage and a Key person approach. The key person approach is described as ‘a way of working in nurseries in which the whole focus and organization is aimed at enabling and supporting close attachments between individual children and individual nursery staff’ (Elfler, Goldschmied & Selleck: 2003;18).  We believe the relationship between key person and families gives you the opportunity to share your child’s successes, struggles and milestones with someone you know is fully committed to working with you and your family. You will be valued, consulted and included at all levels. We strive to work alongside our parents to improve and evolve the nursery to the benefit of all.
